This is the first boring bar holder I had and still use it when I need to bore a deep hole. It clamps directly to the compound so there is no overhang like the QCTP and it has greater rigidity. It was made for 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4" bars but I have used 3?8' bars with shims under them. They show up on Ebay occasionally.
