Does any one know anything personally about the Southbend 1931 year 8 X 36 metal lathe, which is 24 inches between centers? I have looked at Lathes, UK and from what I comprehend it is their cheaper lathe with smaller Morse Tapers (#2 on headstock and #1 on tailstock.

I found one local for 500 bucks but now not sure if it is worht that. Triple owner, 2d guy had it about 60 years.

Any feedback appreciated.

Another place to check is the yahoo Southbend group. They have a couple of guys there that will know for sure.

Best,
