    at work, i will alway ream a hole in a vertical manual mill over doing by hand or even CNC....i will only do cnc if the number of parts or holes out-weigh the labor of doing one at a time taper pin reamers or expanding reamers are the only ones i do by hand

    Broken Small Screw Removal

    i often use a pencil grinder and 7deg tapered carbide bur to remove broken screws at work i like to try to grind a slot and attempt to use a screw driver to crank the broken bolt out.

    according to my references, S2 is the tool steel for pneumatic chisles also used in wrenches, some dies, stamps, and afew other things, but not cutting tools

    i make tons of boring bars (as well as d-bits) from 8 dollar(cheapy's) 1/2 2 flute hss end mills at my new shop i work at i hand grind simple single point boring out of old end mills all the time for boring heads (superior for aluminum IMO) one time i had to do a weird gloove in a milled part...

    Go to a gunsmith shop or gun shop...they have (or should) have all different colors for all sorts of metals....i got a black for 6061, same idea.....but when i clear coated the parts, turned alil purple....but i blame the paint...ended up sending the parts off to be anodized

    with boring heads, the more rigid the better i came a cross a CRASHED criteron 2 inch head and r8 arbor at an old jobber shop i worked at (with NO r8 machines) i dialed the head in, re aligned it...tig welded it, and turned the weld off to true it up (mainly for looks)... its the best head i...

    drawbar??? i dont understand this is for your lathe?...ie in the tailstock (cbores, reamers...) or in the head stock (milling set up) you dont need a drawbar...do you mean something that screws on as a 'tang' to knock the taper out? phil

    i made a tool like that in school but it was totally useless.....would have been easier and a better tool if it was milled,.... i remember a few days of hacksawing and filing the damn thing in some summer heat in the school shop...the point was to 'learn how to use hand tools"....i think i saw...
