    Ducati Elenore

All you motorcycle buffs probably already know about this engine. It is a V8 with only two connecting rods for 8 cylinders. Looks like it would be fairly easy to model. Check it out.

    Reamer Resizing

Hi All I need a .1230 reamer and I have two .1240 reamers in HSS. I plan to sacrifice one and make it .1230. I figure to chuck it up, turn at moderate speed and use a honing stone to get to the size I need. Is this about right? Anyone care to comment? Thanks Jim

    Inexpensive Parallels

Hi All By not paying attention to humidity levels this past summer, I ruined a good set of parallels. Where I used to work, we would cut and deburr Starrett flat ground stock and use it for parallels in various widths and thicknesses. Those days are long gone and Starrett flat ground stock is...

    Cut Off Blades

Hi All I have a table top lathe that I bought from The Little Machine Shop and I am having a tough time finding cut off options. The HHS blades are probably my best bet for this machine but mounting them is a bit of a problem. Where can I get the holders that a half inch square milled in the...

    Bearing Sale

Hi All I didn't know quite where to post this so I'll put it here. For those of us who build small engines and prefer to use sealed bearings instead of bushings, finding tiny sealed bearings can be tough. When we find what we are looking for, the price can be high. Right now, on the radio...

    Small steel I beam

Hi Guys I am working on a small bronze cannon for a friend. He wants it mounted on a steel "cradle" in the style of Civil War era shore batteries. We want to mount this cradle on steel I beams similar to photos we see on line. We figure the I beams should be 1/2" to 3/4" high and around 8-10"...

    O-Rings on Pistons

If you read my introduction you will know that I have been out of the machining trade for a number of years. But like riding a bicycle, one can get right back into the game and carry on. Many years ago, more than I care to admit, I started a two cylinder something or other. Based on a slug of...

    Good Morning Everyone!

New member here. Just joined today. Always have been interested in model engines. Dad was a machinist, had a small shop in the cellar where I got my start. Went to school for machine shop. Spent 25 years in the trade in tool crib work. Bought machine tools for the garage when I opened a small...
