    Wind back to 2300 BC

Perhaps I missed it but the pottery wheel and clay were the progenitor of the lathe. Could the potters who made the amphora to transport wine also after imbibing some of the contents have coined the toast: "Here is mud in you eye,\.Rof}"

    Turning small & slender parts

The simplest is at the same time the most elegant. Thank you for your kindly showing. One use is to machine a firing pin for outdated firearms. Best.

I can lift my 80 Lb. milling machine vise with one hand!

Compliments on such a creative solution. Having just run across it I think that I can adapt your 'crane' for my 1960's Delta heavy duty drill press whose design flaw is no ratcheting assembly. So when I have to elevate or lower the table with the heavy Atlas X-Y-Table and an machinist vise...

The reason I chose this set was on the recommendation of a tool & die maker's advice. On my Atlas 618 I used my DTI on the Prazi set versus a...

    ER 25 collet ?

I have found my German ER-25 collet set most useful on my ancient Atlas 618 lathe for accuracy on small rods. I have just received a collect chuck holder with straight shank in order to make an indexible holder for making small gears with a spindle. Harprit Sandhu has a super book "Spindles"...
