    Another Oops

That looks like a good stress test like Rake said. I am glad I never filmed any of my crashes like on the mill when I took a .400 cut into a hold down clamp I didnt realize was going to be in the way. I am impressed that the Chuck held the piece with what looks like a .125 or better cut. I only...

    Who Has Snow?

Well we dodged the 10-20 inches last night and got about 9 instead. That leaves about up to 3 feet on the ground. Here are some pics and yes that is a standard height mailbox. I had to shovel out a spot for the swarf collector to pee pee. Now the wind is blowing a steady 25mph with gusts to...

    New Technology

Wow. With 8 gigs of ram the the computer will be waiting on the processor. Good buy there. I am running a HP 2.5 Ghz AMD dual core with 3 gigs of ram and is fast so I cant imagine what 8 gig will be like. -B-

    A Portable Silver Soldering Hearth

The Hardy board is the same as Home Depot. I will post pics of it but right now Im snowed in and it is across town in my shop. I used it in a powdercoat oven I built and it works great. I made a small hearth with it similar to 4156df's but dosent look as nice. You cant put direct flame on it...

    A Portable Silver Soldering Hearth

That is a good idea. I have a small "thingy" I built using Hardy backer board similar to what you have and works great. I just soldered up a tuned exhaust pipe for a rc speed boat Im working on. -B-

    Brians Radial Engine

Thanks Brian, I tried that but then I had a bunch of pathced holes that looked funny. I am working on another now and it looks a lot better (CNC). Metal Butcher - I agree 100% with Cedge - Any project will have a bunch of parts, you have to finish each one first before you complete. Look at...

    For you bling meisters...

I was looking at a hand machined 9 cylinder radial the other day, admiring the artwork and happened to scroll down to the bottom of the page and saw it for sale for 12,000 dollars. Obviously people are buying them if there is an order form. I guess my point is, the artwork made here can also...

    For you bling meisters...

I admire machine work like that. I agree, they would be more interesting if they were part of a machanism. They also made me think of flux capacitors, photon generators, discombobulators and othe sci-fi warp drive parts sorry got a little carried away there. -B-

    Trying Brians radial

I didnt catch that one, I have layed out the new one but no cutting yet. I have been working on a SR-71 Blakbird ducted fan rc jet and found plans for the F-117A Stealth bomber, I built a small one to see the dificulty and it took all of my machine time. Time for a scale one, it was easy to lay...
