I dont think so rivergypsy it was bought privatly not from ebay a freind came and told me were it was but thats not to say it hasnt been on ebay at some point in time.

The engine your refering to busydad was the napier deltic diesel that was used in submarines boats and trains the most striking feature for me was its 3 crankshafts two turning clockwise whilst the 3rd turned anticlockwise http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napier_Deltic

Hi rescued this machine this week from getting smashed,know some people may think its not worth saving but i like old machines and would rather put some time into this than a chinese machine the other reason is if you can forgive this yorkshire saying its built like a brick **** house lol anyway...

I have the same lathe which was bought from Eb y cheaply only not with the mill on it,I also have the users manual which gives full charts of gears for thread cutting and the parts manual if you want a copy of them. couple of niggling things with the lathe tailstock the lack of quill travel next...

i dont have a problem with it locking up i said i put a long bush in it to give more support so it didnt lock up

condensors on kettering systems seem to vary from 1uf to 2 uf but are high voltage otherwise back emf from coil will destroy them ,these are now getting harder to obtain with this system now never being used on vehicles.last time i needed one i had to go to a maplins store and buy a 2uf at...

In my days working garages the kettering ignition system with a weak spark was usually down to a degraded condensor or a few short turns in the ignition coil you mentioned the points coil and battery pack but no mention of the condensor.
