    Shop dilemma.

Now thats purddy. I managed to sheet my ceilings and walls this spring but only got half painted before the urge kicked in to get machinery back in place. Regret it every time someone walks in. Congrats on the will power to put off play time.

    Tell me you wouldn't cry

Oh it really didn't get to me, as soon as I seen the hole I had the calculator in hand to figure out the mistake and as soon as I looked at the print I knew what I did. Already welded on 1 of the lifter bore bosses, guess a little more wont hurt. I really concidered epoxy and may still do it if...

Is it OK to ream 10.5mm into a 10mm hole?

I agree, not out of line at all, If you were to be working with a hole much smaller it might be too much. Just work slowly and clean out often, ream a little, back it out, clean reamer and hole, go a little more. My point is the flutes will load up quicker and that is the potiential problem...

    Tell me you wouldn't cry

I took a day off work today just to get some shop time and needed rest from the overtime of my job. It was pretty productive till this. I am pretty fluent in trig and knew I had plenty of meat as not to break thru with the lower case mounting screws. Well, I forgot to take into account the...

    D ogs

If a bomb went off in my yard I think Crusoe would think it's playing. He could care less if its thundering like crazy.

    Shop dilemma.

Use a vapor barier or house wrap on both inside and outside walls, tape seams, then use plywood. Put some outlets in the ceiling, I found them to be almost as necessary as outlets on the wall. Les

    Parting off is chicken soup

I've been twisting handles for over a 1/4 century and parting or grooving is not an issue for me at all, but, I have worked with guys that just can't seem to get it down, I have even set them up and got them going only to walk 5 feet and hear everthing go POW. What I have settled on for these...

Riser Blocks & Mounts Part 1

Been concidering that exact same thing on mine. You just cant get under the bed and screws to clean anything out. I have held off this thinking of shortening the base or cutting out the pan and putting a chip drawer in. Got me thinking again and that aint good.

How the **** did I do that!

I guess I'm still a journeyman also after 26 yrs. Can't say I ever met a master. That actually is a good definition. I was always told a machinest makes mistakes and starts over, a toolmaker fixes his. According to that one I'm both. When I goof it's usually a good one. I've got a nice big pc...

I'm selling a complete working set of Mitutoyo digimatic digital readouts in good working order, I stepped up to three axis. They came off a 9-42 bridgeport and worked good, no issues. Giving first shot here. Asking $250 shipping included here in the states. If interested, drop an e-mail and I...

    Hoglet started (and running!)

Use the 2% thoriated tungsten sharpened to a point with about a .030 dia. flat on the end, you will have much greater control of the arc. At 15cfh I wouldn't use a cup smaller than a 7 due to turbulance drawing contamination into the welding area, I might even suggest going down to 12-13 cfh...

    LMS toolpost grinder

Can anyone give me a feedback on there smoothness and rigidity. I'm concidering using one on a camgrinder I'm building. I was planning on modifying it to take 7" wheels so I can grind cranks also. I'll be glad when I finally get to grind stuff at home instead of at work. I hate being there...
