I was looking at buying an 8" D1-4 Set-Tru Bison for my lathe but read somewhere that they are Chinese now, is that true? Where are some of the other brands made?(Buck,Pratt, etc)
Just looking for a good quality made unit, any advice?

I have not heard that Bison was made in China now. I have found many Bison Dealers selling Feuada Chucks also

The Feuada chucks are made in China! I bought one....though had I known it was from China, I wouldn't have.

The Feuada chuck is actually pretty nice. Though I haven't mounted it yet.

I have bought and used Bison chucks from 6" to 20" including Collet chucks as recently as late last year and none have said "Made In China". Additionally, they've all been very good quality.....how about traming an 80 pound test pin in a 20 inch 4 jaw to 1 micron as of last November.

I really don't think you can go wrong with Bison.

I know some of the Bison stuff is made in Poland not heard of it being far eastern.

Just wondering, I had read on another board somewhere that they had...Hopefully not.
So what about the other brands out there?
