Hello all
I have a quantity of old plumbing fittings of the compression type and am unsure of the composition of the brass. These are usually very yellow colour and I assume very little copper content.
Can anybody advise what percentage of copper needs to be added to make it look more Gunmetal colour ir can these be used as is in a furnace for castings?

Thanks for the reply Rick
Since asking question I came across the reference to matweb.com and have found some 380 references to different grades of brass. That is a great reference source and I will find the answer there

regards
Phil
