    I follow what you are aiming at -- In the picture - just below the wheel on the tail stock is a wheel on the farthest right hand extreme of the lead screw... No yellow handle on the wheel - just plain like the TS wheel. That is the wheel he is wondering why / or what it does... AM I right...

    3/8" link belting source

    FWIW- if this is not the place to post this - Mod's please move me!! As I just got my Atlas 618 and did not know better - I originally bought the 1/2" link belting from Harbor Freight...got home...TOO big!! I had not picked up on the pulley size in reading posts on recommendations for linkbelts...

    Well after just 6 months with my little Unimat... she moved on.. some of the accessories are headed to live the good life in Hawaii with Kludge!! Don't forget the sunscreen guys!! Mahalo :-* I found a nice little Atlas 618 tooled out pretty well. She is awaiting a new linkbelt and a banjo...

    Small lathes turn up around here( Portland OR) pretty often Mr Kludge!! I sure found myself a honey of a Atlas 618...Doing CL searches via ...the" lathes :craigslist.org" sure leads me in the right direction.Or just Portland or Eugene or Salem Oregon searches...I am game and office at home...

    Kludge, It came fully tooled!! But I am selling it with only part of the basics and selling others on ebay --I need to replenish my hobby fund don't you know. The SL is fitted with a slow speed set up, a power feed, 3 and 4 jaw, face plate & dogs, drill chuck for the TS, live and dead centers...

    Thanks all that responded--- The conformation of what I thought was great- Iwas only tempted by the lure of picking it up locally or I never even would have considered it... I only do little stuff and i will do a lot more "tire kicking " before I buy.. that's the fun part...spend the money...

It was a great snag off Craigslist at what I think was a cheap price and luckily for me with plenty of tooling, 3&4 jaw chucks...

    Steve - the catalog is a smart idea- so simple I over looked it - subtle terminology guides and specs will be a tremendous help!! THanks all for so much good advice-- So this mill holder should be a good thing to use as opposed to a chuck...

    What a great rally of advice So an end mill can have 2 or 4 flutes- or grooves that are twisted around the shank.. that give effect how much material is being cut at once, and related to the type of material being milled and would seem to have a direct effect on speed and amount removed in one...
