    Start Model Engineering

For some reason, none of those links work for me. I can’t get to the site by google either. It’s just pulls up a blank page. I’m in the US - not sure that matters or not.

    USA made clamp set

Sorry Jeff. I'm a busy guy these days. Plus most people have been private messaging me and I've just been dealing with them that way. I haven't actually checked this post as much as I should have. If you'd still like a set, I have one left until I make some more. I'd be happy to give you the...

    Stirling Engine

The word documents are the original plans I received and are incomplete. There is a Solid Works assembly which has the missing components modeled in but, this engine has never been made using the parts I modeled in. Some files may be redundant but, this is everything I have for the engine...

    USA made clamp set

I am glad you guys are happy with them. I still have two more sets if anyone else is interested. After that, I will be making some more after the first of the year. Again, glad to hear you like them. I hope you find them as handy as I do. Thanks for the feedback. Dan

    Silver Soldering

Well, I've been practicing but it seems that I am cannot get the brass hot enough. I am just using a propane torch. Should I be using a differnt kind of gas? I can get the capilary action - the solder won't flow.

    Poppin Engine - Solid Models

Has anyone taken the time to model the Poppin Flame Licker? I know the plans that are on the web are pretty clean, but for someone thinking about building the engine (as I am), a nice 3D assembly answers a lot of questions. I've searched this site and found a lot of information about building...

    How to remove layout dye

I can't remember the name, but I think there's an alcohol that works. What do other people use to remove blue layout dye? Thanks.

    Rhombic drive hot-air engine

Nice job! I really like this engine; it is very interesting. Where would one find plans for such a design? I remember seeing something like this in my travels thoughout the ciber space, but I don't have anything in my collection of plans. I'd love to see a video of your engine running if you...

    Which solder to buy

So, do you melt brass shim stock over top the silver solder? This way you don't have the contrast of silver joints on brass parts?

    Which solder to buy

I am buying silver solder for the first time in order to solder some small brass components. I want to buy .032 dia, I think, and I will use flux per a suggestion on another post shown here... http://sra-solder.com/product.php/6073/96 I was going to buy the solder from the same supplier shown...

    Silver Soldering

Thanks for all the great replies! Gus, I too would love to see these at Cabin Fever if you're coming. Nice Work! So if I understand correctly. I need to buy the things on the list below 1. Torch - I'm not sure of I should buy a butane or propane. It seems that maybe I will need both and that...

    Silver Soldering

I am working on an engine that requires a fair amount of silver soldering. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction in the way of supplies. I suppose I'll need everything; although I have a propane torch, but I don't know if I need something special or not. It would be...

    More ignition questions

So if I buy the kit, I only really need a spark plug, right? Will the $6.00 one work alright?

    More ignition questions

So if I went with the S/S module, I would still need to purchase a coil, right? Or is it the complete package? Seems a little pricey ($100) but the complete kit would be nice. I was looking at just a plane double pole double throw switch for the ignition, but I thought a key ignition would...
