i recently bought an old lathe and have been trying to remove the three jaw chuch it came with but cant. the 4 jaw that came with it has a thread so in assuming the spindle has a thread. can some one suggest how to get it off

I'm building a treadle engine for school and haven't the foggiest about dimensioning I'm using skate board bearings to hold the crank shafts what size stroke should i use to make it look right and any other general info would be appreciated

im in process of designing a micro v8 (air powered of course) and cant decide on what type of valving to use. a pushrod system would be ideal for scale but to complicated i need something small and not to complicated please help ???
