    Hello fellow 'engine heads'

Thanks guys, I'll be going. Awfully hard to get into a conversation here. Sort of clanish bunch! Or is it clickity click? Bye bye boys, Bill C.

    Whittle Aero V8 WIP

Tony, I'm feeling your agony...If I may offer another slant on this.... How about packing the upper to the cross slide and peck drill through with the lathe saddle? I also noticed in the photos of the first one that your drill chip is very long and straight as if the feed may be a bit too...

    plans for cam grinder

This manifold is the reason for my interest in constructing a cam grinder...The intakes are siamesed so the intakes and exhaust lobes on each end of the camshaft are reversed. This is a traditional layout for a four cylinder engine. Thanks yall, Bill C.

    Sharpening tiny drills

Anyone heard of a 'wishbone' drill sharpener? I bit and bought one a long time ago and it is a marvel in simplicity and sharpens drill bits down to your own personal limit in size. I'll post some photos if anyone may desire to possibly duplicate one - easy to conceive, fabricate and use.....and...

    Milling Attachment

Does anyone need one of these? I have one similar to the one offered by MSC (maybe a bit larger) that I can offer to someone in need of a milling application on a lathe. While not the best way; necessity will win every time. Let me know if someone may need this attachment. I'll post a photo or...

    Small drill press...

Yes, I've thought about those early 'adventurous' types too that did the unknown....they were smart and bold. Even copper is up near iron in melting temperature. I believe the pursuit of artificially aging a home casting of 356 would be as rewarding as pursuing melting and casting iron. The...

    Gears...

140 dp? Where's my microscope? Wire edm's are the greatest invention in machine work ever! The only method that rivals it is electron beam wire fed fabrication - but when finished the part still needs to be finish machined. Good stuff!! Bill C.

Development photos of HD timing side

Now kf2qd, If you ain't a Harley fan, why would you want to violate a Honda frame with a Harley Davidson look alike engine? Honda's are first class technology and engineering. Harley Davidson on the other hand is well suited to those who enjoy finishing out a major purchase, have dirty...

    Whittle Aero V8 WIP

Tony, Have you seen the original drawings for the totally fabricated version of the Whittle V8? The block is fabricated from bar stock. This has always been a very interesting project to me. Now there are drawings to machine it from solid - very interesting - and a V8 too! Bill C. BTW: I'm...

Mounting parts using superglue and releasing them ...

Yes, very much agree - light cuts indeed with either method. Thinking; Dentists seem to use cutting edge plastic and adhesive technology. I'm envious of the UV cured adhesives that they use.... The perfect adhesive is purposely set, then purposely released... That adhesive is water. But it's...
