    Car and trucks use taper roller bearings in the wheel hubs and have about 3 thou floating clearance when assembled and they put up with severe punishment from the road surface without any diverse affects so I don't think a whack of a hammer to release the morse taper in the spindle would harm...

    Could you use a small bearing mounted on a shaft and bring it into contact with the work piece until the bearing just starts to turn and then half the bearing diameter to find the edge Vince

    This might sound like a stupid question but is your valve timing correct,it is very strange to have no compression even with bad valves etc. Hope you find the solution soon as I know it must be frustrating. Vince.

    You need to put it on bit by bit,put on some braze let it cool and then put on some more other wise the piece gets too hot and it runs . hope this is of help . Vince

    Fords first engine carburetor

    Hi Matt , You should stick with the oiler it works well, I have one on a Ford engine which I did not even have to modify other than put in a bit of gauze to break up the drops of fuel. The only time you would need a carb is if you are trying to govern the speed of the engine Vince
