been messing with lost foam casting in aluminum with no success, I’m using that blue insulation foam, and when I pour the charge there’s a violent reaction in the mold with lots of smoke. When I shake out the casting it’s full of voids. Wrong foam ?

Any good drawings out there of Harley forked connecting rods ? Especially how to go about making the recess in the forked rod. I’d like to build this in half size.

Got a case of cabin fever so I’m in the middle of building my third Deppenbusch engine. I’ve scaled it up slightly and decided to go with heavier flywheels, I’m thinking this would make the engine coast longer between hits and run slower. Anyone out there have any thoughts on this ?
