    rotary table?

I have a 9 x 42 Bridgeport and my rotary table is a Troyke 15" Horizontal it works nice for flywheel when I revamp them to fit different engines. The Bridgeport ram moves in and out so I have lots of travel to accommodate the things I put on it. Todd

Drilling bronze valve cages. Not happy

The tool post grinder I'm building uses a Router Motor at 20,000 rpm you need to make pulleys to get to right speeds you need for the wheels you will be using. Todd

Drilling bronze valve cages. Not happy

That's one nice thing about the Drill Doctor it's quick and easy. I've always hand ground my drills that was the way I was taught and years of doing it but the Drill Doctor makes it very simple. Todd

Drilling bronze valve cages. Not happy

You might want to try a brass grind on the drill a sharp drill bites in but with the cutting edge flat as for brass they don't dig in and tend to cut straighter. It's worth a try and you can always sharpen it when done or do like I do leave it for cutting brass, copper, and bronze. Todd

    Motorcycle mishaps

I'll probably get in trouble with the moderators but it's all about Safety. My stitches are from people not deburring the parts when finished machining and from driving my hand in to the floor with a 1/2" right angle drill. Again it's about not seeing it or getting distracted. Todd

Lathe accident, Tool organizer, bad idea.

I have to disagree with you Tin Falcon it all the same Safety the bottom line is try to pay attention and don't get distracted but until you've been there you won't know!! Todd

    Motorcycle mishaps

The main issue here is all the same you need to think safety as the old saying s$@t happens. I've had two motorcycle crashes with broken body parts, I've had 580lbs of steel dropped on my right foot an walked away, I've got over 25 stitches in my body, and I'm sure there will be more that is why...

Another Radial - this time 18 Cylinders

They look better every time I see them great work. Now I'm going to have to buy a CNC lathe and it's all your fault( that's my story and I'm sticking to it). Todd Sent from my iPad using Model Engines

Lathe accident, Tool organizer, bad idea.

As far as I'm concerned glove don't belong around any machines I've seen to many stupid things done with gloves on. A Pipefitter ground his hand up nicely because a glove got caught in the sanding belt. Glove just are not a good thing in this kind of work! Todd

    The Impending Flood

Brian I'd still think about a back up sump pump it was a life saver for me. Todd Sent from my iPad using Model Engines

    The Impending Flood

I had the very same problem when I was in Buffalo NY. They make a battery back up pump that runs off a car type battery so the pump fails which mine did it will come on at a set level. I moved before I looked into the second type that was a water driven jet system of some type. You may want to...

    What have I got here?

That's a misconception carbide if sprayed or oil is used on the part is fine IF you do this from the start. Carbide dry gets hot and grows as you cut if you run it dry it's best to take half the cut to warm the cutter then measure the finished end to make your finish cut. We used a 6" mill in...

    Shop Schedule

My wife just laughs at me because I've started organizing and putting things away now I can't find a thing! You are right Tin Falcon needs more clean time it takes three times as long to clean up the as it did to make it. Todd

    What have I got here?

It's hard to tell but looks like cutting edge is shot once carbide gets a little dull I get sparks all the time. At the price of inserts if it's still giving me a good finish I run them till they die as lot as it doesn't hurt the holder. I cut a lot of 4140ht so it works for me. Looks like...

    I hate my vice

My dad had a vise just like that on his Clausing mill they are a pain in the butt to work with. Todd

Another Radial - this time 18 Cylinders

You could talk to Lee about it since I got my plans many years ago they have had a couple of revisions. Yours is a major revision that looks great one problem with Lee as with most engineer type they just see the plans, I tried to see if the plans had been revised again when Bill was doing his...

I'm making a bid to get us noticed by tooling manufacturers.

I been using those from Everede for a number of years they are easy to use and sharpen. They have carbide bits as well those are what we used at GM. Todd Sent from my iPad using Model Engines

    4-jaw question

If it's like the chuck I got on eBay made in Korea I'm finding I have to break the chuck down and deburr all parts. The jaws dig into the part due to sharp corners and edges. I had to do the same to my 3 jaws it would bind in some places after deburring iit feels a lot smoother and I'm not...
