    Holding very small parts

Part of building a Whittle Aero V8 involves re-drilling and tapping some very small nuts. I am looking for suggestions on how to hold these tiny 1/8" nuts so they can be drilled and tapped to a larger size. Would I be better off simply making nuts from 1/8" hex stock? Steve C.

Another part for the scrap bin

This is not a big mistake, blunder or boo boo, but it is another day in the life of using a light weight CNC mill to make parts. Having a CNC mill is very empowering in that complex parts are taken from design to reality. The down side is once the "go" button is pushed, you better hope...

    Mini Hand Tapper

I needed a break from screwing up parts for the Whittle engine I'm trying to build so I decided to make a hand tapping stand to help out with the build. I didn't take any pictures while making it as it is pretty straight forward machining. It was made from materials I had on hand so it was...

    V-4 Enging design

I have been thinking about designing a V-4 engine roughly based on one I saw many years ago. Since I only saw it a couple of times and never disassembled I can only guess at the internals. Most of the crankshafts I have seen for four cylinder engines have the rod journals placed at 180 degrees...

    Stirling engine startup

Hello all, this is my first post and hope it is not a question discussed ad nauseum. What is the best or proper way to start a stirling engine? The one I have built seems to take an amazing amount of fiddling around to get running. All comments are welcome. Thanks, Steve
