    Grizzly X3 for sale

The machine is in the Ellsworth Maine area. The machine is roughly 2 years old. It's a std X3 mill (not Super X3). I've added the table power feed to this machine, and it's included in the sale. This machine is in fine condition, I'm selling it because I've purchased a larger mill. I'm asking...

Bridgeport M-head for sale, Dayton OH area.

I understand the troubles with shipping. Thanks for the photo's with the tape. It's much larger than I had in mind and the scale is all out of proportion for the Sheldon mill anyway. Thanks again.

Bridgeport M-head for sale, Dayton OH area.

I have two questions. The first is if there is anyway you'd consider shipping? Secondly, I have a Sheldon 0 mill that I'd like to find a vertical milling head for. Originally the Sheldon had a couple of different milling head options from the factory, one of a similar design to the M head. I'm...

    Collet systems for lathes

There seems to be a huge amount of confusion across all the web forums and email lists related to work holding collets and tool holding collets. This reply I'm quoting here is a good example. While the ER collets are suitable for both work and tool holding, the method shown here to adapt the...

    Marv Klotz's Utilities

If I remember correctly, most if not all of those utilities come with the source code. One could either tweak these to compile on a unix/linux system or better yet for web use, grab the math out of the c code and rewrite them as php scripts.

    Born before 1980

Born sept. 11 1969 I have 2 kids, 3 and 6. I have to be honest I have know idea how my mother lived through my youth. I see disaster at every turn with my kids. My mother could have watched me crash my bike into a parked car at 20mph and simply asked me if I was alright. I'd be calling in...

    Machining Helical Gears

Thanks Chuck. Is this your setup? That rocking table/work bench makes me nervous.

    Machining Helical Gears

Thanks Birk. The angle of the head/cutter was confusing me. In your other post regarding helical cutting it all made sense with the cutter 90 degrees to the mill table, but while I was trying to envision the operation with the cutter at that angle it seemed like the cutter would cut more...

    Machining Helical Gears

I can wrap my head around how this rotates the gear. What I'm unclear on is if the mill spindle is rotating the cutter or if the cutter is fix in it's position. Which is it? Does anyone know of an online video of this type of cut being made? Thanks.

    The Wish List

Next on my list is a Bridgeport 9x49 J head, or a quality clone. After that I'd like to find a solid 6x18 surface grinder.

    collets for bridgeport miller

R8 is common, but I know the early models used Morse and Brown & Sharpe tapers. If you've tried the MT2 and it's not right, dig up a chart or something (google) for the B&S sizes. Maybe that's what you have.
