    My cylinder liners are cast iron (Howell V4), and I lapped them with diamond paste. I have a ultrasonic cleaner, but I'm not sure what liquid/solvent I put in the tank.

    I think your right. I put one in sleeve and on mandrel, and left it for awhile.. Gap is like it should be, didn't change... Could I heat treat and set gap again after turning to correct diameter? If I had enough cast iron stock, I'd just make new ones and turn to exact size then heat treat.

    thanks, what got me wondering about it was where the drawing says the 3 ring grooves are .041" wide x .043 deep. Figured all the ring grooves would be all starting at the same diameter b/c of their equal depth

    Howell v4 engine drawing question

    I was wondering if someone could help me with the piston drawing. I just want to verify I'm understanding this correctly. It shows .872" dia (top land only) on the print. It shows .873" dia at the bottom of piston. Does this mean after the first o-ring groove the diameter is .873"?
