    CERAMIC Sanding belts

I powder coat and now and then get a reject ,I save them all up and then strip them using Starchem synstryp paint stripper . This really works fast and the powder just slips off often in 1 piece . care should be taken as it soon burns if you get it on you. Rob.

    Simple power cross feed Lathe

The drill bit you can see here is a stepped drill I made it out of a wood workers drill bit it is 10mm then goes to 17mm (a bit hard to make ) but I just used a grinding wheel until I got it right . It cuts very easy so it might well be worth you looking into it . Rob.

    Simple power cross feed Lathe

possibly BUT the drill running at one speed makes nice even rings as it cuts and as one side can be seen it makes it neater than you would get by Hand pushing it across. Rob.

Hi GUYS/GALS This may be of interest ,I had 500 round plastic billets to face and drill I normally only do 30 at a time as it gets boring winding the crossfedd and tail stock in and out . So I bought a plunger type attachment for the tail stock and fitted my battery drill to the cross feed...

    Drill Chatter

When I use one of my tapping heads that weighs quite a lot I fasten a bungee cord around the mill head and quill it give's more upward pressure. Its one of those that has a hook at either end, its simple to fit and adjust I just tie a knot in it if more tension is needed . Rob.

I Fitted mine on the top using a pin like you have to stop the quill from pulling back to far . I found it easier to see the DRO this way, very pleased you showed this as it will make things more accurate for depth . I could not drill the stainless for the pin so cut a slot with a fine...

    Lifting A Mill.

I used a engine hoist/lift my mill weighs 310kg sx4 the trick is to make sure you have the straps the right length so you can lift it straight onto the bench . I was 4" short of the bench height this caused a big problem as I was not sure that if I released the hydraulic lock it would come...
