    I'm a beginner too and looking for my first project. The Coke can sterling engine looks like a fun project. I also like the kits that you can buy where everything is already milled and cut. I think it would help to understand the basics and how everything works.

    I love the look of the color casehardened parts. Is that color and finish permanent or could it rub off over time? Does it depend on the thickness of the casehardening?

    That's a heavy duty chain. Looks great with all the brass. That does look like a lot of work though for a chain but the end result look better than anything you could go out and buy.

    Thanks for posting the video and plans. That's a beautiful piece of machinery you built there. I'm just now getting into model engines and hopefully someday, I can build on like that.
