3" face mill (finally got a nice finish)

Deere, Nice finish. It's a great feeling when you accomplish something you set out to beat. The tool bit (allegheny ludlum dbl) is probably M-4 HSS. Without knowing if it is a #2, #3 or #4, can't know for sure. But it's definitely a better grade than you received with your mill. I don't...

    Threading Bits

Just a note: If you grind a tool to 60°, THEN grind a back rake on it you have changed the 60°. Hold a triangle up looking straight on the cutting point. Now tip it away from you. The 60 included angle becomes smaller. Mike Warner

Hi Eric, Yes I'll definitely be at Cabin Fever as a vendor. I really look forward to it all year. Our booth is kind of hard to miss. It's done in red and black with a sign (Arthur R Warner Co.) above it. This year we are adding 14 new High Speed Steel Insert kits to our booth, and I'm kind...

    Machining Stainless Alloys

Couple of things about Stainless: Don't baby it with light cuts or dwell your tool on it. Try to keep your tool as sharp as possible. If you use carbide, make sure the cutting edge has very little or no edge prep. Most carbide tools have a negative or small chamfer on the cutting edge to make it...
