    Centering piston bore on mini mill - not enough Z clearance for indicator

    Tater, You might try machining a plug that fits the bore, with a concentric spigot to chuck on. You should be able to make this tool compact enough to center the bore. Getting a chuck and drill bit in the limited space could be another problem. Good Luck! Daryl

    any laser guys here

    Dave, I've been working with laser cutters for several years and most of them won't cut "plastics", (toxic smoke). I think you will find that a water jet is the way to go, much nicer edge finish. Many of the "laser" shops I've worked with also have water jet's so you should be able to locate...

    Steve, How about Plasti Dip for your plug boots? I believe there was an article in Strictly IC about using Plasti Dip for spark plug boots, however I don't remember the issue. Daryl

    Cubman, If your 1/2 scale Tom Thumb castings are the ones made by Midwest Model Engineering, replacement castings should be available. I haven't talked to Don for some time, and don't know if he is planning to produce more casting kits but I'm sure he has some castings left. I did the drawings...

    Making an 11/64" socket wrench

    You might try a 1/4" Socket Head Cap Screw. According to my chart it should measure 3/16" across the flats. You can thread on a turned handle or a file handle, and instant socket wrench.
