    I too have gone through similar types of illness. You have a much bigger and varied workshop and I wish I could refurbish lathes like you can. I am currently making a 1.5 inch to the foot Ransome and Marles Thresher and still have a long way to go. All the best Graham

    What have you been doing today?

    Got my teeth deep cleaned today. Monday at hospital for an assessment for electric shock treatment for an irregular, irregular heartbeat on Tuesday so if the lights go dim in SW England on that day blame me. Graham

    Hi Brian I hope at the end of your ring saga you will write a preferred method. I have made several engines and only two have run and they have all finished up for show and not for running, always through lack of compression be it rings or valve seating. Graham

    Hi All The collet has a 1.75" x12tpi external thread by 13/16" long and pulls into the collet holder. As per my enlarged sketch. It is not on the list (thanks) Graham

    Hi All It came in a home made box from a pile of junk in an old shed and was free. I do not know what machine it was originally from. I made an adaptor and fitted it to my Colchester Master lathe. I come from GB. Graham

    Hi Craig They are too small, the end thread is 1.75 inches diam. x 12 tpi for closing the collet. Thanks for trying. Graham
