Contamination for sure- have done a fair amount of TIG welding. Cleanliness is important. Clean with Acetone only. Use a stainless wire brush to clean the area. Also, You normally should tack weld 4 quadrants- small tacks-90 degrees apart. Then fill in between them.

Hi all... Looking for the method you use to cut the groove in the wrist pin area in a piston for the cir clips. I have avoided this in many of my designs but I now need to do it. The groove will be approximately .02" wide , .02" deep, inside a .177" dia hole. Tnx in advance.

Did i read that you could chrome the interior of a brass liner? Is this offer still available? I am working on a new design and was somewhat limited to iron/steel P/L but would love to do an ABC.. Thanks John
