    Kerzel running

This is another Kerzel engine built from plans made available by the designer, Mr. Kerzel. It has a bore of about 3/4 inch and a stroke of almost an inch. It is running on propane.

    Kerzel hit&miss by Mike

It looks like you have a good start. I completed a Kerzel this year, it was a fun project, but I'm still not able to get it to run for anything longer than a few seconds. I'm sure I will solve that problem though. At first run attempt, I had major problems with the mechanical points as shown...

    Transistor ignition problem solved

I was having trouble with the transistor ignition circuit with a hall sensor on my still-in-progress Kerzel Engine. After 5 or more good ignition sparks, the circuit shut down. If I shut off the power to the board, then turned it back on, the same thing would happen. After switching parts...

    A source for music wire

    A source for music wire

I needed some music wire for making springs for the Kerzel hit-and-miss engine that I am building. The plans called for wire measuring 0.010 inches in diameter for winding the springs on the regulator. The smallest I could find at the hardware store was 0.015 inches. Not wanting to spend $20...

    Kerzel is finally running

Thanks Brian, I think that I will take your advice and make cast iron rings. I will learn more that way anyway. Paul

    Kerzel is finally running

I'm almost at the point of making the piston for my Kerzel engine build, and am debating whether to make cast iron rings per the plans or to use an o ring. Question: Did you cut the piston groove for the o ring on your Kerzel near where the plans show iron rings or in a different place? How...
