    I think I see your problem. First of all what model compressor are we working with? Also what type of drive does it have? A V belt or a micro v belt? Horsepower figures for a gasoline engine are roughly twice that of an electric motor. So if it were driven by a 5 HP engine you would need a 3 HP...

    Air compressor problems

    The outlet gauge would not rise if the compressor were not pumping so we know the compressor works. If the tank gauge does not indicate then I would suspect the tank gauge is faulty. Replace it and let us know.
