    old sheetmetal repair

Depending on how big the access hole is you could line this tank with fiberglass mat and resin. Did his once on a gas tank from a old car worked for me.

Is is another of your built up flywheel designs. If so could you share a couple of pictures. WOW looking good.

I was just looking at one or your videos and I noticed that you changed the rear sprockets. Where did you come up with spoked sprockets that size. Most of the larger one I see are solid. Ok course I only hang out at Tractor Supply with a limited selection. The engine seems to like the new...

OK I've studied the photo sequence on Photobucket on construction of the head. I remember you posting about hollowing out the head for coolant passages. For the life of me I can't figure out how the coolant gets from the head to the rest of the engine.

OK I didn’t see much on the crank build up in your picture collection. So I've looked closely at some of your pictures. I'm guessing you welded the journals to the throws on the crank then ground down the welds. How did you grind the welds on the inside of the throws? There gone I can't see...

    Shop dilemma.

It should look the same I live on the north side of Midland out Midland Dr, and I really enjoyed the 102 today just glad I wasn't in Wink Tx. Didn't the weather man say it was 108 there today. We should get together sometime for coffee.

    Shop dilemma.

Working in the garage when it is 100 makes you go slow. I have lots of fans but that's just moving around hot air. The whole week here it's 99 or 100. It's like the wetherman has a bunch of 9's to use up. Dog days of summer are here. In the afternoon I just move into the house and work on what...

    1886 Benz

So does the incoming air pull through the tank and bubble up from the bottom through the gas, to create more vapors? I'm wondering about the valve that controls the amount of air entering the tank. I also was wondering just how or where are the point arranged. I've seen a picture or two that I...

    Shop dilemma.

Wow you've hit close to home here. Might not be the best prices in town but a lot more fun would be McCoy's or Builder and Homeowners Supply. Sadly Andy's Lumber is no longer open. Best hardware store in town would be WestLake Hardware. Any Saturday many of us gadget tinkers are wondering around...

    1886 Benz

I’ve greatly enjoyed following this evolving project. So away back in the story you might have stated where you got the beveled gears you used in the timing and I missed it. So were they purchased, adapted from something else or built in the shop. So when you get time I’m sure everyone is...

    Quadricycle plans

Anyone have leads or links on drawings, files or spec on the Ford 1886 Quadricycle engine or the entire rig for that matter either in some scale or full size. No real plans to do anything with it but it’s my current fascination on studying the design and how it was done. I’ve watched a few...

    1886 Benz

Well you’ve answered another question about a differential. Looks similar to a surplus one I’ve looked at to use for a sidewalk battery powered car for grandkids. Lets see a brake band on a drum. Somewhat like Henry Ford used on the Model T’s. So I’m guessing the brakes and drive belt controls...

    1886 Benz

I’ve been following the build of this project with much excitement. It’s caused me to conduct more than one search for information and review the few videos on YouTube. I’ve been wondering about the carburetor and ignition. Hum I haven’t found much on brakes either. Still makes me want one...

    Line shaft

Well I see we have been shopping in the same type of supply "junk" pile. Here's my treasures from a few weeks ago. You just surprised me with a picture of a similar post drill. I have the little one cleaned up and waiting on an idea of where or what to so with it. The larger ones patina still...
