Thanks for the info on the wire. Is the wire wrapped tightly around the part, or loosely? Another question: Do you not find it necessary to seal the pipe to the stainless carrier during soaking? Does the loose charcoal around the base of the pipe take care of this?

I don't understand how the wrapping with iron wire works-do you wrap a layer of charcoal up against the parts? Or something else?
