Engine Coolant and Storage After Shows

I'm wondering about the "red" antifreeze that is being used in some cars now. I heard that the red stuff is "better" for mixed-metal engines (iron, brass, aluminum) that the green stuff. anyone hazard a guess?

    Video of Ellwe Diesel? Running

from what i could see, the piston is within the *sealed* crank case ( packings around the crosshead shaft). it draws on the upstroke, and compresses on the downstroke, sending air into the intake port under pressure (it has a reed valve). exactly like a motorcycle 2-stock. the sealed...

MQL system (compare to fog buster)

i like your MQL system Awake. nice design. i hear your issues with needle valves. in your video, your initial adjustments appeared to "drift". I.E. the density of the mist cloud seemed inconsistent. when i was doing neon, i encountered the same problem with needle valves. the valves i used...

    Mini diesel engine.

here's a place that might be able to help. not a recommendation/endorsement, whatever. there is a size shown here HERE that is .005" ID and a .06" OD, rated to about 27000 PSI. the search term was "stainless steel capillary tube". LC Stainless Steel Capillary Tubing i think these will work...

    Mini diesel engine.

i'm a bit curious when you say that you "see oil vapor coming out of the exhaust". you should be shooting a very fine mist. the quantity of fuel per stroke should also be very small, only a few milliliters. you may have too large or too coarse of spray from your injector. i suggest you "fire"...

    Mini diesel engine.

fwiw, here's some tech stuff on the Bosch VE distributor-type injection pump series. it's been a real workhorse in a lot of truck and car diesel engines. my VW has one of these. the requirements for a pump design, and ways that the requirements were achieved are described in some detail. in...

    Experimental Flash Steam and others

i'd second starting a new thread specific to linux CAD. i've been using linux in various flavors since 1993. it's come a long way, baby :) having an "alternative platform" that can run open-source (free) CAD/CAM software would be quite useful... paulr

i found that the condition & cleanliness of a computer fan determines the reliability/lifetime, esp. with laptops. disassembled and thoroughly cleaned the fan of a flaky HP laptop a year ago (with jeweler tools!). never had another problem. ran faster too! FWIW, the increasing use of "solid...

My Week this Week, My workshop videos

hermetic, haven't been able to find that mystery symbol anywhere. i did find several different symbol "standards", all from different "domains". there is a set for IEEE, IEC ("international"), DIN (German). Australia has another, i think. there are others as well. electricians here (USA) go...

My Week this Week, My workshop videos

hi hermetic, the diagram you have there seems odd to me too. i was particularly curious about the "double-V" symbol you asked about. i have a notion of what it may be. i'd like to see the area of the manufacturer diagram where it appears. i didn't notice it on this video. very happy to hear...
