Corliss Steam Engine (Coles Power Models)

Nice but all I can think is how bad I want that Schaublin mill.

Storm - FS engine water cooled with clutch

WOW! That is awesome! Is it your design? The working clutch actually peaks my interest in IC engines.

    Panther 600 V12

WOW! That is awesome, and you apparently have some cool toys to make it with. That block was all stitched on a CNC machine. That crank looks awesome too.

    Machining a cylinder head

If you want to clean up the combustion face, I highly recommend a surface grinder.

    Whats up with HMEM?

For the most part I have noticed much more "clutter" lately. At this point in this thread I find it unusual that Austin has not chimed in.

Band Saw - Harbor Freight or Grizzly?

I have had this exact same saw for about a year. I would say under heavy use - more than the average "home shop" for sure. As previously stated, only buy the best blades you can stand to drop money on. I have been very pleased.

    Chinese collet sets

well, i honestly prefer to buy US made whenever possible... having said that: I have experience with this seller: http://stores.ebay.com/CME-TOOLS?_rdc=1 I have bought about 40 CAT40 holders and about twice as many ER16 end ER32 collets. I have been well pleased with the products...

    A different opposed piston engine---

Brian, had a little time to look at the solid tonight. Generated toolpaths and designed a fixture for the flipside. Hopefully I can get out in the shop soon. Another great design, and most of all, thanks for sharing with the community! I look forward to seeing it run.

    did anyone catch this

The stars are in the correct place. Two sets of stars is missing, must have been an oversight by some one in a department that gets catalogs out rather than reads instruments. Or, they assumed you can figure out the hundreds, tens, ones part. Also, you must disregard the stars on the left...

    Fancy by Elmer

That's a great looking start. You can remove the jaws from the chuck, run the table up against it and tighten it down. Should be close enough for government work.

Holding thin parts for machining .........

I use vacuum fixtures from time to time. No clean up at all, just flip a switch. This is primarily for flat or plate material. For flat parts, you can make a DIY vacuum fixture very easily with a small piece of aluminum and a shopvac and a bit of tubing. Google "vacuum fixture" to get an...

    A different opposed piston engine---

I'm in N. Alabama. Your SW solid file will be good. I'll generate toolpaths directly from the solid file.

    A different opposed piston engine---

Brian, what material do you want this made out of? I can CNC you a couple rods if you would like. I was wondering what you were going to do next. I enjoy seeing your engines come together, and ultimately run. Let me know if your interested.
