What is this part on the eccentric?

Just looks like a collar with set screw. Purpose--it is part of the eccentric, used to position it on the shaft. Instead of putting a set screw into the eccentric, which usually comes in at a diagonal from the side or straight through the eccentric's groove to the shaft, they just machined a...

Homemade boiler for steam powered vehicle?

I've gone a route for a boiler that you may be interested in. There are steam cleaners used for jewelry cleaning that would provide adequate steam to power your 1hp engine. Suitable boiler plans for a 1 1/2" bore Stationary Engine

You could adapt a boiler made for another application and possibly get what you might be looking for. Coles' sells a 2 inch scale Case Traction Engine in kit form and sold in various segments. I believe the boiler, offered as either pre-made or in kit form, is at a size (output wise) that you...

6" Copper HRT Boiler Build (warning, long build and lots of pictures)

Like your pics , especially you with the golden curls. Could you add source of material (vendor) and specs.( nominal size and wall thickness), maybe even approx. cost of the component, please. How about some background specs. and how you arrived at those parameters. Us old guys haven't...
