    My First Beam Engine

I'll post production photo's as soon as I find out how to do it. Right now I'm working on the frame and I'm getting no real clues on all the dims. I'll have to R&P them from the prints I have. If anyone can help me with solid dimensions I would greatly appreciate it!! I realy enjoy the machining...

    My First Beam Engine

Esteam, I am building the same engine only I do it for my own relaxion. I may take a year to build it but I do enjoy watching you're engine run. I was hoping to have it built in time for the N.A.M.E.S ,although I probably won't. Watching the vidio is inspiring to say the least. Thanks Dennis

    New beam engine plans

Ariz, I really don't like the intricate work that we put into these ultra micro machines. Although I do enjoy the process, sounds a little oxymoronic, but it's not being there that thrills me, it's getting there that helps me relax, and to know I do this for myself is the reason I sometimes...

Harbor freight - Grizzly - Enco Tools

I have a saig/HF mini lathe and a Saig/HF micro mill. I've heard that all the equipment is from the same distributor. you should ask around to those you know for endorsements. I have had no problem with the lathe and mill I have. Once you get to know the units you have purchased then you can...

    New beam engine plans

I have begun building parts for the beam engine and yes there is missing sheet #7. I don't know if there is any critical info on it. I have all together sixteen drawings, #1 to #17. I plan to make the frame out of wood with brass mountings and reinforcement strips, but that plan might change as...

Cutter Chatter on Thin Wall Parts

P.S. also turn a slower rpm and use a smaller feed rate as well.

Cutter Chatter on Thin Wall Parts

Model clay works good but I know when you use silly puddy to fill the cavity there will be very little chatter while cutting the outer wall. As far as the inner wall boring goes, silly puddy does a very good job when you use a generous amount on the outer wall as well.

    DIY Reamers

This method works very well. Many times I've used it. Take music wire the size you need and grind it at about 30 deg. on the bench grinder, drill a few thousands under and then use this new reamer. It will usually be within about a half over. It is prooven. usually works with soft metals as...
