    Orrin, I understand your pain, really I do. But I find thumbnails really annoying, so much so I rarely click them. Personally this as most other sites don't have enough pictures, pictures really do help to convey the message of the poster and make for a more interesting read all-round.

    The strain of a sudden stop must have a part to play in longevity. Not sure I'd be wanting to do that too often ;D

    Information on VFDs

    They are not much good on a machine with 3 motors though, like my mill. My single rotary powers my mill & two lathes. And it won't need upgrading if I add any more machines to my collection. VFD are great, to a point, just depends what you need to power? And you need one for each machine...
