Help Support Home Model Engine Machinist Forum:
retired PLC programmer, still strugling in my complicated love affair with my old misstress: mechanics
My hobby workshop is centerred around my wobbly chinese CNC: 4 axis, xyz:200x400x100 mm, spindle:800w VFD/24.000rpm/er11, LinuxCNC. After some strengthening of this and that over the years, it can now do mild steel to a tolerance of +/- 0.01mm (0.001") ...
My preferred materials are aluminum, brass and mild steel, but I do most practice in PVC-U, formica and hardwood, because that's what I can easily get for free or cheap;-)
I find it easy to get fascinated by a new project, but even easier to be distracted by the next project before the current one is finished - the amateurs privilege, but it threatens to overload my storage space with abandonned objects.
