    Coal Fired Boiler Plans

Hello, Not posted here for a long time, not had much time at all in the workshop so haven't had much to post. Was wondering if anyone had any plans for a smallish coal fired boiler, about the size to match a Stuart 10 or D10. Preferably horizontal, but I imagine vertical ones are more...

    Brazing Hearth

Thanks for the advice everyone! I shall probably make something similar to Stews! I presume only one end is closed off to enable longer peices to be placed in? I have found some large peices of steel sheet in the workshop that would make be perfect for use for my hearth. Must buy some...

Finally, some progress! Today, I beat the end caps out over the former... The former...luckily, the Bowman boiler I am basing this on has the same diameter as the Elizabeth boiler I have already made! The end caps - far from perfect, but they are going inside so it doesn't matter. Still need...

    Brazing Hearth

I have come to the conclusion after my difficulties with silver soldering my small boilers that I need a decent brazing hearth as, aulthough I am sure we have enough heat going in, a lot of it is being radiated out to the atmosphere. Does anyone on here have photos of their hearths that I could...
