Seems kinda pricey. I absolutely love my Real Bull XJ9512. Its heavier than an X2 and costs less . I see mods people do to the X2 to beef them up and I,ve never had the need to do anything to mine . Just my .02 .
Its a set of generic gages . I have three that go from .700' to 4.00". The original gages came with 1/4' travel .001" indicators which I donated along the way. They come with a Mitutoyo .0001" indicator which is really the only appreciable difference from the Mitutoyos .
I have , among other things, an Interapid .0001" reading indicator for sale. I really don't need .0001 resolution in my garage. Pics to follow if I can figure out how to post them. $140.
I will have bore gages , depth mics and inside mics later. PM me if you're interested.
If you short out 2 of the contacts on the pot with a push button switch you will have instant rapid. I like this on mine becuse when you find the "sweet spot" feed rate you dont lose it or have to wait to clear .
Yeah , that cosmetic thing. I'm like ok, it runs good, lets build something else. Though I am working on a turners cube right now to give to my boss when I retire cuz he's been good to me over the years. Gonna have to get that one pretty .
Drill the corners 1st staying perhaps .010" away from your finish dim and staying off the bottom. use a flat bottom drill (easily ground) to finish the bottom.
Rough the pocket, Then plunge corners to finish with the end mill. then finish the pocket with the end mill.
