At my 70th birthday party my daughters opened a fund to enable me to buy a mini lathe to indulge a lifelong interest in model boats and steam engines. Taught myself to use it with books. Won the steam trophy one year at SADMES (St Albans and District Model Engineering Society) for a 3 cyl single acting self starting reversible marine engine made on the mini lathe plus vertical slide milling adaptor. Nothing big.
