Thanks for that Jason. So did you make the counter bore for the spark plug deeper than the .450" shown on the drawing so the spark plug end just protrudes into the cylinder bore?

Jason. I've just started my build of this engine. I like your rectangular hopper idea and will copy that. What spark plug did you use? Did you use Viton 0 rings for the piston rings? Ian

Thanks for that Bob, I understand that the exhaust lobes face the ends of the shaft. It's the orientation of the two cam pairs on each shafts I'm not sure about. As you can see on my photos both cam shafts are the same, is this correct? Ian

For my Farm Boy engine #558 I built a Jan Ridder vapor carburetor which is connected directly to the inlet port the engine just sucks the fuel/air vapor into the cylinder. If you email Jan he will send the plans...

I did not harden mine but I think the idea of drilling it out is to lighten it a bit. I build mine a couple of years ago. Here is a short video of it running:-
