    Machining Realistic Scaled Nuts

    It would be quite interesting to know what formula was used years ago to determine how thick nuts were to be manufactured. Vic. Pre WWII Whitworth and pre 1955 US Standard, nut height = stud diameter. BSF and later standards, nut height = 7/8 stud diameter.

    That bit for locating the toolpost, that you nearly lost, should have a small coil spring behind it to make it pop out. Is the spring on the floor somewhere? Ian

    Motorcycle engine ideas

    Edgar Westbury's Kittiwake looks similar to a British single, as current motorcycle practice inspired the design in 1930something. It has occurred to me to build it with redesigned crankcases as a 1930 ish Panther.
