Wobbly Engine Plan - Finished, I think?

Looking good ! Ive built a few small engines from the scrap bin and sort of build them "as i go" and they seem to come out OK. What i would like to ask is what drafting package did you use. as I'm thinking that i like to 'have a go ' at designing one first' and not on the back of an envelope...

Small Engine Turbocharger (Is it possible)

To try and answer your origanal question fuel supply. the only carburetter/ turbo engine i have come across is the MG metro and that fuel system uses a high flow/pressure fuel pump with a separate variable pressure regulator that holds the fuel pressure 4 PSI above boost pressure and the SU...

    Gear reduction??

I was assuming the reduction was by timing belt . you are right a meshed gear wouldn't be any good in a cnc system. And you should avoid oldham couplings with rubber inserts as that can leave some play in the system alltho a lot of people get away with them on light loaded drives Steve

    Gear reduction??

A gear reduction would give more torque as well as better resolution for the same size motor. although top speed would be cut but less chance of loosing steps on a open loop system

    Pamper those tools and instruments...

That's clever i think i will have a go at that!

    Don't you just love CNC?

Bin there!!! just a tip from another newbie to cnc if you are using Mach3 you can do a trial run in the toolpath screen and it has a panel marked absolute limits which tells you the max movements/limits the machine is going(or try) to go to Steve

Internal thread cutting on the lathe

Just a thought but the machinery's hand book in this country retails for over 100 pounds which is very expensive for something you might not understand in the early stages. ( i have one !) Steve

    Fly cutter help!

Thanks for all the replies chaps i will take all the advice/warnings seriously. I sharpend a cutter to Bogs drawing and with great success on a 1" brass block and managed to square it to 1/2 thou over the length but it was very slightly concave on the width as Bogs had warned so i will look at...
