    Toolpost mini drill

Good point :o but I am OK on this one, I live in the UK. Despite our extremely tight gun laws, sound moderators are legal and l can make them for my own use or I can modify existing ones, I can't make and sell them by way of a trade, as all new moderators have to be sold through a registered...

    Toolpost mini drill

I've got a index and clamp, I drilled 24 holes around chuck back plate, then made an arm with a pin location ;) I have been making vented baffles for gun silencers, works a treat, by milling holes at an angle in the baffles using the compond slide I can direct gas flow to dead spots in...

    Warco wm 250 lathe

Hi guys, I am having all sorts of problems with my WM250, I bought it new in April 2010 all was fine until Oct when the motor started to run lumpy, it would not hold revs, pop, pop, bang and it tripped out the MCB in my workshop :( Warco sent me a new speed controller, no good, a new motor...

Thinking about making an oxy-hydrogen system for use in the shop.

I've used oxy-hydrogen for underwater welding. I would not recommend its use for anything other than that, hydrogen is very touchy stuff if not treated kindly :( Bb

    Anti singing!

I was turning a long thin tube of 60mm dural today, no matter what speed, feed, or tool I tried, it started to sing like a demented Canary, at a frequency that was very uncomfortable. I tried with and without lube and even tried to damp the noise with a rag held on the tube, still the same ...

Imperial thread cutting on a metric lathe

Hi guy, I am new to this turning malarkey and have just taken delivery of a Warco WM250. I have done some simple turning in the past but never any screw cutting so I thought I'd have a go ::) First off I had to grind up a 55 degree tool :-\ as it turns out a lot easier than I thought :) I turned...

    what coolant/lube

I am a total novice when it come to turning :-[ so forgive my ignorance in asking such a basic question. What coolants should I use for turning and drilling (if any) on, ali, brass, steel and what lubes should I use while tapping ? Bb

    Trying out metric

    I am happy with both but the big advantage in metric is the relationship between size-weight-volume-displacement-pressure 1000mm x 1000mm x 1000mm (cubic metre) = 1000 ltrs = 1000 kilos = 1 tonne Or 100mm x 100mm x 100mm = 1000milli ltrs = 1 litre 10mts head of water = 1bar Bb
