    Burgess BK2 Bandsaw questions

I had a BBS20 and IMO it was of little practical use. Any oil on the blade and it ceased to drive. New belt required. Sort of OK for wood but not much else. . I seem to recall a leaflet rather than any sort of manual. If it still has the nylon guide rollers replace with aluminium or similar...

    Making a model Cannon

If you want drawing/plans for relatively simple but attractive models of some examples you could look for: Scale Model Cannon by Stewart & Heyes ISBN 0-7195-3888-2 Not a large book, some 60 or so pages. Published London, John Murray, 1982. I doubt if you can buy one but maybe a...

    Diagnosing circuit board?

This may be useful for tutorials. http://www.electronics-tutorials.ws/ One forum I'm on, for microcontrollers in my case, but it does have a beginners section IIRC http://www.electro-tech-online.com Electronics is very much a 'paws on' pastime. If you consider you won't get very far...

    Machining Delrin

I have had a similar experience, not with black Delrin but just generic poly-acetal bar, when reaming it. Drilled some 18mm OD 11.5mm and reamed 12mm in a ER25 collet. No hope of getting 12mm bar through, so I reamed again and it took a fine shaving out and was OK. Brand new UK made...

    I hate plumbing!!!

Chuck You need something similar to this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Flexible-Wire-Hand-Saw-For-Plumbing-Metal-Plastic-Pipes-/390032747564?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item5acfc36c2c Although that particular example seems a bit more flimsy than mine. I guarantee if you have one...

gripping the inside of a small hole

Pretty close to Gail's reply. If they are 4mm sockets, I worked for a company here in UK that made panels etc. with many of them. Not screwed and nutted but they had plain bodies and were fixed by Starlok washers. similar to these ...

    UK source of M2 & M2.5 Cap Screws ?

Has anyone used any M2 or M2.5 Hex Skt Cap Screws from this supplier: http://www.toolfastdirect.co.uk/acatalog/metric_Socket_Capscrews_Self_Colour.html Are they reasonably good quality? I need some self colour, not SS. I have some M2.5 A2 and the hex sockets are poor. ( Politely rather than...

    Lathe Chuck Backstop

Some pics of mine. Fitted to Myford S7 There is a 3/8" tapped hole in the business end to take an extension, as that is only long enough to give some 4 1/2" to the chuck jaw ends. Brutish but functional, a bit like me. :) ..... 'Cept I'm only half way there ... Dave BC BTW the gears aren't...
