Gotta agree that this engine looks good, runs good, and sounds good. Like a hit and miss should sound (in my biased opinion.)
ps. I'm old enough to remember the local wood man bringing his way, "dangerous" (long before OH&S) saw driven by a hit and miss engine to saw big logs in our backyard to foot blocks.
The memory of the engine going from the hit & miss to firing on every power stroke as the saw blade chewed into the log gets renewed with these.
John I have never seen a hit miss on a wood saw but I can imagine the sound as it changes from hit miss to continual firing. Thank you for the kind words also.

I have never made plans or drawings for my engines except for the ones I showed earlier just to get a close idea for fit.
