A very nice build. There's something hypnotic about a hit and miss engine running.

Gotta agree that this engine looks good, runs good, and sounds good. Like a hit and miss should sound (in my biased opinion.)
ps. I'm old enough to remember the local wood man bringing his way, "dangerous" (long before OH&S) saw driven by a hit and miss engine to saw big logs in our backyard to foot blocks.
The memory of the engine going from the hit & miss to firing on every power stroke as the saw blade chewed into the log gets renewed with these.

John I have never seen a hit miss on a wood saw but I can imagine the sound as it changes from hit miss to continual firing. Thank you for the kind words also.

What method did you use for making the piston rings? Yours obviously work very well.

Sparky I used an o-ring on the piston.
Maybe next model I will try to make some piston rings for it.
