Great vid Tony.
The last time I rode on the Fairbourne railway was about 35 years ago.

You caught a short ferry from Barmouth to the end of the line of the railway. Scrabbled up a duck pebbled beach and caught the train.

In those days the railway ran to a timetable and the locals used it as a sort of bus service to visit places or to do shopping.

It also looks like they have changed the locos to narrow gauge replicas as we were mainly pulled by miniature mainline passenger locos.

We used to holiday a lot at Barmouth and a day trip on the railway was always one of the highlights.

Nice one

Hi John,

Glad you liked the video we could have done with kinder weather, but it is Wales! I first rod the Fairboune many years ago when it used 15" gauge mainline miniature locomotives. About twenty years ago it was converted to 12.25" gauge and narrow gauge locomotives.

Regards Tony
