For the past couple of months, I've been working on a water tube boiler. I wanted something safer and more efficient than my pot boiler. I also wanted it big enough to run my 1/4hp PM Research 6CI.
Today was the first successful steaming and though not done, I thought I'd post my progress so far.
Please note that this isn't a "model" of any type. The goal was not to duplicate any legacy design. It is for functionality.
I'm sure some of you have seen the Youtube videos of a monotube boiler from Lynxsteam (https://youtu.be/bY8BortErf8). I used his design as a starting point and have shamefully used some of his ideas.
My boiler is smaller though:

I don't have any automatic controls set up yet, but when done, it'll all run on 12vdc power. For now I hooked up a solenoid valve to inject water from my house plumbing. (I was surprised when I found out my house water is at 70 psi!)Height: 24"
