Congratulations.

I like this design a lot. I like beam engines, so one with two beams is double the fun.

Thank You for posting this video and Thank You for posting the build updates.

Next step: Disassemble, paint then reassemble:

Wooden Base and brass plumbing to finish it out will be the next task.

I'm far enough on this project that I feel safe to post the design.

You can find it on a separate thread here:

Enjoy.

I painted the engine, put it on a wooden base and soldered up a "steam" manifold. This puppy is complete.

You can get the plans for this engine here:

And of course, the final video:

That's AWESOME Ved! She's a beauty & a fine runner!

Thanks for sharing the drawings & documenting your build. A great read.

Well....whats next on the "drawing" board?

Well....whats next on the "drawing" board?

David (aka Grasshopper or Davidyat) was working on a beam engine design by Brian Rupnow. David wasn't able to get it running. He said it's binding somewhere.

Being that he only lives six miles from me, he gave me a box with the engine in it for me to troubleshoot and see if I can get it running and even better if I can get it running well.

After that I have some ideas on how to make a "quiet" air compressor.

I'm stepping going to step away from model engines for a while. This Dancer Engine was a very long build compared what I do typically.

Thank you for encouragement and feedback.

I'm sure you'll get the beam engine going, Brian's designs are pretty good.

Maybe you can still post your progress with the compressor? It's tough to find categories for these projects, they're all kind of engine related ...I've been thinking of a feeder mechanism for a steam hammer:
Looks like a fun design project...
