Anyone have experience with this or a similar vibrator/tumbler to clean up/deburr small parts. Here's the Harbor Fright one :

Harbor Freight - 5 LB. METAL VIBRATOR/TUMBLER

+ any advice on the proper use of such a gadget ? Walnut shell media ? Water, parts, filler media ??

Thanks !

Mike

I use my old reloading tumbler very much like that to polish parts sometimes. With walnut shells (I get 'em at the pet store under lizard bedding-- the usual HF variety is both a huge bag and too small kernel size for my preference) it takes a few hours to get brass shiny, but there's little danger of removing metal. You will get walnut media crammed into any and all small holes. Run the shells dry or with a little polish.

For real deburring you'd need the ceramic media, and fluids but I'm not sure the little tumblers will hold up to much of that before croaking.
